Bible sales have skyrocketed in France in the last five years, and French people are registering for Alpha Courses. This momentum is exciting and unleashes great potential. In spite of this, however, church-planting in France still remains extremely slow and challenging. The FR2 (French Revolution II) is God bringing France back to Himself french style: one soul at a time. Will you partner with us as we run the marathon through God’s strength?
Galadriel Bonnel was born in 1977 and was raised in Lexington, KY. She came to know Jesus at an early age. She studied nursing at the University of Kentucky where she obtained a Masters in Nursing. She has served missions in Kenya, Haiti, Brazil, Jordan and Guatemala. In the short-term, she plans to focus on learning French and figuring out the culture. She has been accepted to do a Masters in Health Education, but nothing is concrete yet on the professional level as the nursing diplomas have no equivalency here. One of her hopes is that God opens a door for her to practice in the French medical field. If not, she would love to mobilize medical French teams for short-term trips to Africa. In the meantime, she is enjoying ministry in the French church and on campus with Julien.
Julien Bonnel was born in Aix En Provence in 1978. His family moved to the U.S. in 1991 when his mother was invited to do research in Psychology at U.C. Berkeley. He accepted Jesus a few months later one day, when he read the Bible by himself in a room. He served as a missionary in Haiti for 6 months in 2002. Julien got a B.S. in Social Welfare at U.C. Berkeley, and an MDIV from Golden Gate Baptist Seminary. He played Brazilian Jazz Piano professionally around the Bay Area with his quartet "Synapse." Most of all, God dropped an amazing gift from Heaven in his life one day: Galadriel. They got married on January 4, 2004. He is doing a 2 year Masters in Psychology program at the Universite De Provence in Aix, and a 1-year internship with FEEB (the French Baptist Federation). With Galadriel as a ministry partner, Julien says he can face anything; bring it on France!
