Glen and Rita Chapman: Democratic Republic of Congo
Glen and Rita teach at the Kikongo Pastor's Institute. Glen teaches Old Testament, African religions, and Baptist distinctives. Rita works with the spouses of the pastoral students, preparing them to minister in partnership in a rural setting.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Glen works with local leaders in direct evangelism and also shows evangelistic videos in surrounding villages. One way Glen travels is by a boat, equipped with an outboard motor. The boat gives the local people a means of transporting their crops to market and getting to the hospital in Kikongo.
Rita teaches illiterate women to read, and serves as an active member and counselor of the parish women's fellowship. As the women focus their vision more clearly, they challenge themselves to share Christ not only in Kikongo, but in surrounding villages as well.
