Coats For Kids
Napa's Coats for Kids is a program that began as a local mission outreach in 2003 by local Police Officer Ray Urbano and his wife Deedee and the members of CrossWalk Community Church and has since been joined in this venture by Napa Police Officers Association. We started with distributing a number of donated coats and have grown to distributing new coats to over 600 recipients last year. We provide new, warm winter coats for children in need in the Napa community. All of the families are pre-qualified as recipients by being at or below poverty level.
Each year we pledge to continue to serve and further our assistance in our community. The first year we started, we assisted 100 people. This past year we assisted more than 800. The selected families were brought together at CrossWalk Community Church where the warm winter coats were distributed. In addition, they were served a catered meal along with their family. There was fun, festivities and a time of community with one another. Without donations from the community, we could not make this happen. We are a non-profit organization that is staffed by volunteers. All monies and donations go to support the program and are tax deductible. With the support of the community, we will continue to strive towards our goal. Coats for Kids is asking for community support by attending our events and we are also asking for donations of items for our silent auction. To donate auction items, or more information, please contact CrossWalk Community Church at 707-226-1812 or Ray Urbano at 707-312-1132.
