Core Values
Core values are God honoring, Bible-based principles adopted by CrossWalk Community Church of Napa that will guide us into the future. These values will protect us from settling for the good when we should be striving for God's best.
1. People Matter To God
God loved the people of the world so much that He gave His only son, Jesus in order that anyone who believed in Him would not die, but live in heaven forever. God's priority is people, and so it must be with us. Because Jesus gave a direct command to go out and disciple all people, our first priority is to those who do not yet know Him. As Jesus gave himself for others, so we sacrifice in order that the Un-churched would come to know Jesus. By honoring God in this way, we fulfill God's command, and best meet the needs of others and ourselves.
2. Bible-Centered Preaching and Teaching
God's Word is the guidebook to living in relationship with God. Understanding and applying the Bible's messages is critical to living as light in a world of darkness.
3. Continual Growth Under Christ's Leadership
Christianity is not a destination, but rather a journey with Christ as the Leader. We never "arrive" until we are home in heaven. Therefore, pursuit of full devotion to Christ and His cause should be normal for every believer.
4. Christian Community
Loving relationships should permeate every aspect of church life. The community of believers is critical to maintaining relationship with God, and is a tremendous bi-product of being part of the church. Christian community is marked by love, acceptance, authenticity, fellowship, service and grace.
5. Godly Servant Leadership
God calls people to lead by following the example of Jesus, who led by becoming a servant to all. Leadership based on individual spiritual gifts, passion and style is the biblical standard. Stewardship of these gifts and of the resources of the church is the responsibility of the leader.
6. Excellence Honors God and Inspires People
We will pursue excellence in our facilities, programs, publications, relationships, worships, etc. as an indication of our love for God.
